FindPenguins Case Study
Travelers want to share experiences – easy, fast, and preferably with their entire network. Globetrotter Tobias Riedle has already convinced Jochen Schweizer in German TV show “Die Höhle der Löwen” with his idea and is now offering the users of his platform to leave world-wide footprints
Situation
Travel blogs are mostly maintained by people who travel for several months, since building up and maintaining their own blog is very complex.
FindPenguins simplifies this idea: on the platform and the mobile app, adventurers can save and publish articles (even offline!) on their personal travel profile. These blog posts are called “footprints” and show the touristic places around the world. Footprint posts are created with just a few clicks and can be displayed interactively on a world map. FindPenguins offers the possibility to document the most beautiful moments for numerous trips in any length and to archive them collectively.
By collecting the personal “footprints”, the user creates a valuable archive of travel memories, which can be expanded and shared with people all over the world. Back home again, travellers can order their most beautiful travel adventure as a Memory book.
“As our users are represented internationally, an international orientation of our payment provider was important to us. PAYMILL accepts payments in over 160 countries and over 100 different currencies”
Tobias Riedle, founder of FindPenguins
Challenge
“It is the biggest challenge,” says Tobias Riedle, “to sensitize people to the fact that the pursuit of travel experiences goes further. The advantages of collecting personal holiday memories with the app can not be directly estimated until later the user recognizes the value.” The solution of this task requires perseverance, time and clever marketing of the founder.
The basic use of the platform and the app are therefore free, only the order of the photo book is paid, as well as various additional features, which can be acquired through a premium membership. This is the business model.
Outcome
„With PAYMILL we have found the perfect partner and luckily also a friend in our neighborhood in Munich.”
Tobias Riedle, founder of FindPenguins
